Day 1: Marine Bioprospecting
The first day focus on systematic and multidisciplinary approaches to discover bioactive compounds with applications in human health and well-being. Topics will include biosynthetic gene clusters, sustainable bioprospecting, and sampling strategies for marine organisms such as bacteria, fungi, viruses, algae, and invertebrates. Applications in medicine, food, feed, and industry will be discussed. A presentation session of the participating students will be included.

Day 2: Waste Valorization and Meet the Companies session
Lectures will showcase successful cases of marine waste valorization through sustainable extraction of biomaterials and circular economy approaches. Focus will be given to the transformation of discarded biomass into value-added products in line with the EU Zero Waste Strategy. This session will be focused on the WASTE2TASTE project, as well as companies working in the sector such as SINTEF, TETHYS, etc). In addition, new project will be presented (e.g. PEPECO project).

Day 3: Euremap project
EUREMAP brings together 4 European research infrastructures with complementary fields of activity from discovering new compounds to screening their applications, while ensuring the resulting data are usable by the entire scientific community. Speakers working within EUREMAP will present their activities.

Day 4: Funding opportunities and some insights on academic publishing
The fourth day will be dedicated to talks on funding opportunities for young researcher and European infrastructures supporting marine biotech research. Second part of the day will be focused on the use of artificial intelligence in research and the role of early-career researchers as key drivers of Open Science.
